Opposition parties’ Senators have threatened to commence impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari should he fail to immediately tackle the security challenges facing the country.
This was as the opposition Senators at plenary on Wednesday issued a six-week ultimatum to the President to address insecurity within the period or risk impeachment.
Senate Minority Leader, Senator Phillip Aduda disclosed this while briefing the National Assembly press corps at the end of Wednesday’s plenary, at the National Assembly complex, in Abuja.
Earlier at plenary, the Senators had tackled Senate President Ahamd Lawan, questioning while insecurity which is at top burner in the nation should not make it to the Order Paper for today’s plenary.
