Nollywood veteran actress, Ada Ameh, has been confirmed dead.
Ameh, known for her role in popular sitcom, ‘The Johnsons’ on Africa Magic, reportedly died Sunday night. She was 48.
According to reports, the actress, Ada Ameh was a guest to an oil company worker and his family in Warri, Delta State when she suddenly collapsed.
Sources said she was rushed to the nearby Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s hospital but gave up the ghost before arrival.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the news of the actress’ death on Monday morning.
The NNPC hospital, Warri, is yet to issue any public statement on the development as at the time of filing this report.
The deceased, who is famous for her comic character in ‘The Johnsons’ TV series, played the role of Anita in the movie ‘Domitilla’, in 1996.
Born on May 15, 1974 in Ajegunle, Lagos, the popular actress lost her only child (a daughter) of over 30 years old in October 2020.
The actress would later open up about her mental health challenges barely weeks ago, months after losing one of her sisters.
“Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now, and it’s taking my life. I will not die. We will get over it,” Ameh had said.
