Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) standard bearer, Atiku Abubakar has formally unveiled Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate.
metrowatchxtra reports that the former Vice President unveiled Okowa at the opposition PDP headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.
Governor Okowa and his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike were initially pencilled down for the vice presidential role.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony monitored on AriseTV, Atiku said his running mate must be able to speak his mind freely.
He also said Okowa must be ready to work with him at all times.
Atiku admitted that the decision of his “running mate was a difficult decision, but was quick to add that, “I am not afraid to take such decisions.”
