Embattled former Imo governor Rochas Okorocha on Tuesday perfected his bail conditions which involve the payment of N500 million to beat the deadline of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential screening in Abuja.
The presidential aspirant’s attendance for the screening exercise was doubtful after he was arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, last week Tuesday.
However, a Federal High Court in Abuja granted him bail on Tuesday morning in the sum of N500 million and a surety in like sum.
Consequently, Okorocha perfected the bail in less than 12 hours and appeared for the APC screening to contest the presidential ticket of the ruling party.
The former governor, who is being tried on a 17-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N2.9 billion, was number 17 on the 23-man list of APC presidential aspirants.
