A frontline presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has withdrawn from the ongoing presidential primary election of the main opposition PDP.
Tambuwal, an ally of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and presidential aspirant, whom the latter worked for in the 2018 PDP presidential primary, withdrew from the race in the middle of the exercise for former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar.
The PDP Special Convention/Presidential Primary to elect Presidential flag-bearer of the Party for the 2023 general elections, is currently underway at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
