Political associates on Monday stormed the International Conference Centre, ICC, Abuja, and purchased the All Progressives Congress’ N100m presidential nomination form for Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
The associates, who beat the Tuesday’s deadline for purchase of nomination and expression of interest forms, said that Nigeria needs a “Nigerian president” and not one given to ethnic tendencies.
Leader of the group, Sam Nkire, told journalists that “We are not here on our own, we have his backing. Even though friends and brothers contributed to purchase this form for him but he has given us the go-ahead.”
