A coalition of Northern Groups, has obtained the N100 million All Progressives Congress’ presidential nomination and expression of interest forms for former president Goodluck Jonathan.
According to reports, the group stormed the International Conference Centre, ICC, Abuja, late on Monday to obtain the forms for the former president.
This comes barely few weeks after protesters on April 22, stormed the Abuja private office of Jonathan, urging him to declare for 2023 presidential race.
Although Jonathan isn’t a member of the APC, speculations have intensified in recent weeks that he is set to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the APC to contest for President.
Meanwhile, members of the coalition said Jonathan is the most qualified to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, whom the former lost re-election to in 2015.
If elected as President again, Jonathan can only serve for one term of four years, according to the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
He was first elected in 2011 after completing the tenure of his former boss, late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
