The Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has formally joined the growing list of presidential aspirants in 2023 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Wike made his intentions known on Sunday when he visited Makurdi, the Benue state capital, and held talks with some delegates of his political party, the PDP.
During his declaration, the governor said he has the courage and resources to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, from power at the ballot box.
His disclosure comes barely days after Aminu Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi declared their interests in the presidential ticket of the main opposition party.
“To remove APC from power, I’m the person who can tell them enough is enough,” Mr Wike said. “We must take this power and I’m ready to take it for PDP.”
“God is with us that’s why APC keeps failing every day,” he added.
