Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor Lilian Salami, on Thursday, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Senator Daisy Danjuma hostel for female students at the Ugbowo Campus of the Institution.
Speaking during the event, a visibly elated Professor Salami thanked the donor, General TY Danjuma for the wonderful gesture and appreciated all who have continued to demonstrate goodwill towards her administration.
She prayed for the grace to complete the project.
The Senator Daisy Danjuma hostel, is a two three-floor hostel for female students, which was graciously donated by General TY Danjuma to complement the Vice Chancellor’s massive infrastructure drive, and the project is expected to be completed in less than ten months.
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, only recently completed three new hostels for the University. This was followed closely by the award of a fully-furnished two hostels – male and female – as well as office complex at the University by the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).
