Zamfara: Deputy Gov Gusau who’s ‘Bone in Gov Matawalle’s Throat’ Impeached

Zamfara State House of Assembly has Impeached the state Deputy Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau. The deputy governor fell out with the state governor, Bello Matawalle, when he refused to join the latter in defecting from the People’s Democratic Party PDP to All Progressives Congress (APC)..

Mahdi has since then, middle of last year, been a ‘bone in the throat’ of the governor.

He was impeached by 20 out of the 21 members of the House that voted in favour of the motion.

This is coming three hours after the 7-man panel of investigation submitted it’s report to the House.
