Twenty-three students will receive first-class degrees, as the University of Abuja (UniAbuja), holds its 25th convocation from Feb. 25 to Feb. 26.

Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’allah, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, said this at the pre-convocation briefing on Monday in Abuja.

Na’allah said that 8, 769 students would graduate at the ceremony out of which 267 students would receive doctorate degrees.

“A total of 2, 372 students will graduate with Masters in Sciences, Engineering and Agriculture, while 214 students will be awarded postgraduate Diplomas,” he said.

Na’allah said that his administration would make a difference in the institution by carrying out various programmes aimed at developing the students, the varsity and the nation in general.

He added that 1052 students would be awarded with second-class upper degrees, while 3061 students would get second class lower degrees, adding that 324 would receive third-class degrees.

“We have introduced some foreign languages for global citizenship in order to meet with the new world order; we are constructing a new senate building.

“We are building smart class rooms, constructing new roads, we have also introduced entrepreneurship courses to train students as successful graduates,” he said.

He stated that the university’s aim was to compete globally with other institutions to earn a world-class status.

Na’allah said that the institution has a zero-tolerance on indiscipline by either students or the staff.
