The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the closure of All satellite units of the Intelligence Response Team and Special Tactical Squad across the country.
This is not unconnected with the ongoing drug saga involving suspended DCP Abba Kyari who has been arrested alongside four others namely ACP Sunday J. Ubua; ASP Bawa James; Inspector Simon Agirgba and Inspector John Nuhu.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Monday exposed in a press conference the shoddy deals and shocking detail of how Abba Kyari was involved in the 25kg cocaine and distributed $61,000 to members of the syndicate.
The syndicate has it’s network and major contracts in Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria. Kyari had moved out 5kg from the concealed 25kg which he made the whopping $61,000 from.
The much celebrated Super Cop had won several accolades, awards and recognition even from the House of Representatives.
His fall manifested in a fraud link with Ramon Abass popularly known as Hushpuppi.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation ordered his arrest after discovering his involvement in Hushpuppi’s crime cartel.
