Anambra State Governor-elect, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on Thursday vowed to transform the state to a mega industrialised economy.
He said that roads in the rural areas and cities, as well as markets, environment challenges must be addressed im the course of his leadership.
Addressing members of his transition committee during a ceremony put together for their inauguration at Golden Tulip, Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of the state, the governor elect re-echoed his vision for Anambra’s transformation, promising to ensure its realization.
He said, “My manifesto for the state is not just a tool to lure the people into voting me into power, but a social contract with the people of the state.
“The work at hand is huge and my vision for a better, newer, liveable and industrialised Anambra is achievable and efforts must be put in place to bring it to reality.
“My manifesto is not just for campaign but a contract I have signed with Ndi Anambra and since they have chosen me amongst all the other qualified candidates that contested the last election, I’m committed to undertake the transformation of Anambra and ensure impactful leadership and there is no stopping of my work plan for a better Anambra.
“Anambra must be transformed to that mega industrialised economy, our roads both in the rural areas and cities, markets, environment challenges must be addressed,”
Also in attendance at the event were membets of the Handover Committee led by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prof Solo Chukwudobelu.
The chairperson of the Transition Committee, (Dr) Mrs Oby Ezekwesili was on hand to welcome the governor-elect with a teddy bear hug in company of other Committee members, which include, Hon Ben Nwankwo, Mr Chinedu Nwoye, Dr Nelson Omenugha.
