The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the redeployment of the Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service, Mr Suleiman Aledeh, to the Edo State Orientation Agency as its pioneer Director General.
The development was announced in a Government Special Announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
According to the statement, Aledeh’s redeployment takes immediate effect and forms part of ongoing administrative adjustments aimed at strengthening key institutions of government and improving service delivery.
“The governor’s decision forms part of ongoing administrative adjustments designed to optimise resource management and strengthen institutional capacity across critical sectors of the state’s administration,” the statement said.
The government noted that Aledeh’s appointment to the Orientation Agency reflects confidence in his professional competence and ability to drive the agency’s mandate.
“The redeployment reflects the government’s recognition of Mr Aledeh’s professional expertise and capacity to advance the mandate of the Orientation Agency, an institution critical to civic engagement, values promotion, and public communication strategy across Edo State.”
The state government also commended Aledeh for his contributions to public broadcasting during his tenure at EBS.
“During his tenure at EBS, Mr Aledeh demonstrated considerable dedication to public service broadcasting and institutional development,” the statement added.
“The state government commends him for his outstanding contributions to the broadcasting sector and wishes him continued success in his new assignment.”
Meanwhile, Mr Festus Alenkhe has been appointed Acting Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service pending the appointment of a substantive chief executive for the station.
“In his stead, Mr Festus Alenkhe is hereby appointed Acting Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service to oversee the operations of the station pending the deployment of a substantive Managing Director,” the statement said.
The government expressed confidence in Alenkhe’s ability to sustain the station’s operations and uphold its professional standards.
“Mr Alenkhe’s appointment as Acting Managing Director underscores Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to seamless operational continuity at the Edo Broadcasting Service,” the statement noted.
“He is expected to maintain the high standards of service delivery and professional broadcasting standards that define the station’s reputation.”
