It’s a Scam, Atiku’s Aide Reacts to Video of Ex-VP Promising Give Away

But Atiku’s media aide in a quick rebuttal distanced his principal from the shambolic empowerment scheme trending online

Paul Ibe, media aide to a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has dismissed as a scam an AI-generated video that falsely depicts the former Vice President promising a massive giveaway to Nigerians.

In the purported AI video, Atiku could be heard saying: “I will be giving massive give away this month and selecting people at random as a way of showing support to every average Nigerian out there, as a way of supporting those who believe in a better tomorrow. Simply drop your details and sign up.”

But Atiku’s media aide in a quick rebuttal distanced his principal from the shambolic empowerment scheme trending online.

Posting on his Facebook page, Ibe noted that Atiku will continue to work with credible Nigerians who are committed and believe in Nigeria.

He wrote: “His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress believes in a better Nigeria.

“To this end, he is working with others who believe in, and are committed to the Nigeria of our dream. However, we wish to alert Nigerians that this scheme is a ‘wayo’ (scam).

“Don’t fall for it. Their plan is to extort your hard-earned money and compromise your data. Kindly ignore, please.”
