Barrister Gabriella Omosede Igbinedion of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has clinched the Ovia Federal Constituency seat with 77,053 votes in the just-concluded House of Representatives’ by-election.

INEC returning officer, Mr Clement Ighodaro, announced the final result in the early hours of Sunday at Iguobazuwa, headquarters of Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo state.

Her closest rival, Mr Johnny Aikpitanyi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), managed to secure only 3,838 votes, while Dr Sandra Asemota of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) trailed further behind with 925 votes.
