Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Professor Victor Adetimirin Olawale as the new Vice Chancellor of Edo University, Iyamho.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., on Saturday.
“This appointment takes immediate effect,” Ikhilor said.
The newly appointed VC is a distinguished scholar and seasoned administrator with decades of experience in teaching, research, and university leadership.
A Professor of Agronomy, he obtained his B.Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Ibadan, and subsequently earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from the same institution.
Over the years, Prof. Olawale has served in various leadership capacities in Nigeria’s higher education system, including Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, and Director of Academic Planning. His work has significantly contributed to curriculum development, research innovations, and institutional reforms.
“Prof. Olawale is widely published in reputable local and international journals and has supervised numerous postgraduate students to successful completion,” the statement added.
