Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved a new minimum wage of ₦75,000 for workers in Edo State.
The governor announced this on Thursday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City during the celebration of this year’s Workers’ Day.
“Today, I am proud to announce that our administration has approved a new minimum wage of Seventy Five Thousand Naira (N75,000). It’s our way of saying thank you,” he said.
“We believe this will make a real difference for Edo workers, and in return, we count on your renewed dedication as we build a better Edo together”.
The current minimum wage in Edo State, until now, is N70,000. It is believed that the new increment by Governor Okpebholo was to address the rising cost of living and economic challenges faced by workers in the state.
