Senator Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has denounced the prosecution of juveniles in court following the recent Endbadgovernance protests throughout the country.

Metrowatch reports that Endbadgovernance protestors, including youngsters, were charged in court on Friday.

Two of the children slumped in court.

Nigerians, including some lawyers, faulted the arrangement and blasted the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Reacting via his X handle, Senator Sani described the arraignment of minors as most unfortunate and shameful for the country’s democracy

He urged the federal government to withdraw the charges against them and return them to their states

“The arrangement of those minors for their participation in protest is most unfortunate and shameful for our country’s democracy.

“The FG should withdraw the charges against them and return them back to their states,” he wrote.
