Adams Oshiomhole, senator from the Edo North senatorial district and former governor of Edo State, has attributed Monday Okpebholo’s win in Edo State’s just concluded gubernatorial election to God’s will.
Metrowatch reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), named Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress the winner of the race.
Okpebholo received 291,667 votes, defeating his nearest competitor, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 247,274.
Reacting, Oshiomhole while addressing journalists in Benin City on Sunday night, said “anything that God cannot do does not exist”, stressing that “those with wisdom know that power only resides with God”.
“When some people said the election was do or die, we said no. It is about choice.
“Today, God, by His infinite powers, has decreed that Senator Monday to make up for 8 years of disaster caused by Obaseki and Asua together,” he added.
