Southwest governors are currently meeting behind closed doors in Lagos State.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is hosting the meeting at the Lagos House in the Ikeja district of the state.

Babajide welcomed the governors who came to Lagos for the zonal meeting.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, along with his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hazmat, welcomed Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), and Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) at the Lagos House in Ikeja.

The meeting comes amid a standoff between the Nigerian government and organized labour over a new national minimum wage.

While labour demands N250,000, the Nigerian government has suggested N62,000.

Labour may restart its nationwide strike on Tuesday if the Nigerian government fails to meet its demands.
