The Super Eagles will face the Benin Republic on Monday (today), searching for their first win in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.

After three rounds of fixtures, the Super Eagles have failed to win in Group C.

The West Africans’ campaign began with a dismal 1-1 home draw against Lesotho, followed by another 1-1 tie away to Zimbabwe on matchday two.

Last Friday’s stalemate with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa was their third in the group.

The Finidi George’s side now languish in fifth position in the pool.

The Super Eagles have a superior head-to-head record against Benin Republic.

The three-time African champions have only lost once in 16 meetings, with 13 wins and one draw.

They defeated the Cheetahs 1-0 the last time both teams met in March 2021.
