Finidi George, the Super Eagles’ head coach, has stated that his squad understands the significance of a positive outcome in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa.
The highly awaited match will take place today (Friday) at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The Super Eagles have only two points from their first two games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, and they need to overcome South Africa to get their campaign back on track.
Finidi admitted they are condemned to beat Bafana Bafana.
“We’re prepared for the game. The players are focused, they have really worked hard to expect victory on Friday,” the former Ajax and Real Betis winger told reporters.
“We’ve put behind the AFCON clash in Ivory Coast. The AFCON and World Cup qualifiers are two different things. But overall, we’re condemned to win”.
