MTN Nigeria says it was aware of the service outage being experienced by some subscribers from Wednesday afternoon, February 28..
The service outage, which started around midday has made it difficult for MTN subscribers to make calls and access the internet.
Speaking on the situation, MTN said the issue was predicated on multiple fibre cuts.
“We are aware that there has been a service outage. We are working to ensure that this is resolved.” A statement released on the MTN verified Facebook page reads in part.
“We truly regret any inconvenience” it added
It however assured that the engineers are working tirelessly to restore normal services.
This comes on a day fixed as the deadline for telecom operators to block all lines not linked with National Identification Number (NIN) as directed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
