FIFA Ranking: ‘We’re Proud’ – Sports Minister Reacts as Super Eagles Move 14 Places | METROWATCH

The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria for moving up 14 places in the latest FIFA men’s ranking released on Thursday.

Metrowatchxtra.com reports that the Super Eagles are now ranked 28th in the world.

The 2023 AFCON runners-up are also now ranked the third best team in Africa.

Only Morocco, who are the highest ranked country on the continent, and Senegal (second position) are ahead of Nigeria.

Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire complete the top five teams in Africa.

Reacting, Enoh, in a tweet via his X account, urged the Super Eagles to keep up the good work, adding that he is proud of their accomplishments.

“Congratulations to the Super Eagles of Nigeria for moving up 14 positions on the FIFA ranking ladder,” he tweeted.

“You have gone from 42nd to 28th place, which is your highest placement in 16 years since 2008.

“We are proud of your accomplishments and hope you continue to soar. Keep up the good work, dear Super Eagles of Nigeria.”
