Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, has held more negotiations regarding purchasing Manchester United in its entirety with the Glazer family.
However, the Glazers have once more rejected Sheikh Jassim’s takeover proposal.
Sheikh Jassim notified the Glazers that he was prepared to end the process as a consequence.
Respected football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano made this assertion on Saturday in a tweet from his X account.
He tweeted: “Glazers informed of Sheikh Jassim’s decision — he has WITHDRAWN from the process. The final bid understood to be almost double than $3.5B market valuation. $1.5B extra investment was planned.
“Sheikh Jassim has presented fully cash bid, clearing all old debt, with zero new debt, for 100% of the Club. Sheikh Jassim’s team declined to comment on this news citing “confidentiality restrictions”, but have confirmed they’ve withdrawn from the process.”
Meanwhile, the latest development has now opened the door for Sheikh Jassim’s rival, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, to make a fresh bid to buy Manchester United.
