Vice President Kashim Shettima presided over a meeting of the National Economic Council at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Thursday’s meeting, the third in the Tinubu-led administration, comes six weeks after the council approved the distribution of N5bn to each of the 36 states and the FCT to alleviate the hardship that followed the removal of the petrol subsidy on May 29.
Present are governors of Osun, Lagos, Kaduna, Adamawa, Rivers, Benue, Sokoto, Delta, Ebonyi, Taraba, Nasarawa, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, among others.
