Manchester City is willing to nearly quadruple Erling Haaland’s salaries in order to deter Real Madrid’s interest, according to the Daily Star.

The Norwegian already earns £375,000 every week, making him the Etihad’s joint top paid behind Kevin De Bruyne.

City, on the other hand, wants to offer him a new deal of £600,000 per week.

Haaland’s current deal runs until 2027 but the Premier League champions want the 23-year-old to extend it.

Apart from Madrid, City is also aware of the money on offer in Saudi Arabia, with Riyad Mahrez opting to leave the Treble winners for the Middle East this summer.

Haaland’s new contract could see him enter football’s top 10 earners list with an annual salary of £32.5m.
