The list of the 2023 most peaceful countries in 163 autonomous states and territories has been published by the Global Peace Index, GPI.
Mauritius is placed top in Africa, followed by Botswana and Sierra Leone, whereas Iceland took first place as the world’s most tranquil nation.
Due to the deteriorating security conditions in the area, Nigeria and some other West African nations were left off the list.
Security issues in several West African nations, including terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activity, are a major concern.
These are the top 15 peaceful nations in Africa.
