In what industry watchers have called a bold move aimed at boosting subsea engineering and structural integrity solutions in the Nigerian energy market, the TSC Subsea, a global robotic deployed subsea engineering asset integrity solutions, has gone into strategic partnership with SubseaRobotix.

The SubseaRobotix is the pioneer of Advanced Non-Destructive Technology solutions in Nigeria.

While explaining the rationale for the partnership, the UK based Nigerian-born Dr Bello Salihu who is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at SubseaRobotix, said in a statement that, “As pioneers of Advanced Non-Destructive Technology solutions in Nigeria through our fore-runner companies, SubseaRobotix is uniquely positioned to deliver TSC Subsea’s world-class and field-proven ROV and diver-deployed advanced structural integrity solutions to the Nigerian market and further afield in West Africa.”

Dr Salihu, a fellow of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and a veteran of subsea asset integrity campaigns worldwide, added that the convergence of robotics, automation, virtualisation and artificial intelligence will transform the inspection landscape in the years to come.

The partnership agreement, he stressed, “Will cement the long-standing relationship between our two companies and is a measure of the confidence and trust both parties have in each other’s capabilities.”

The UK’s TSC Subsea offers advanced non-destructive testing techniques and robotic inspection systems, deployable via divers or remotely operated vehicles, while SubseaRobotix delivers high-quality asset integrity assessments in challenging subsea environments.

The statement which is also hosted on their online platforms and carried by prominent international industry publications, further announced that both companies share similar core values and would together provide inspection data collection and analyses for subsea assets, including pipelines, flexible risers, and offshore structures.

It noted more that in the last few years, TSC Subsea boasts of over 300 subsea deployments of its patented cutting-edge technologies worldwide.

Meanwhile, Mr Jonathan Bancroft, the Sales Director at TSC Subsea, in his remark, stated, “We are excited to combine our expertise and strengths with SubseaRobotix to bring our ANDT solutions to the Nigerian market.”

An off shore industry expert who lauded the partnership but craves anonymity affirmed that both companies share similar core values and would together provide inspection data collection and analyses for subsea assets, including pipelines, flexible risers, and other offshore structures.

“The collaboration between TSC Subsea and SubseaRobotix is set to create a transformative impact on the Nigerian subsea inspection industry, driving innovation, efficiency, and safety to all involved,” he asserted.

Bancroft maintained, “Together, we aim to revolutionise the landscape of subsea inspection capabilities and structural integrity, ensuring utmost client satisfaction and raising the industry standards to new heights.”

Weighing in on the development, Mr Wale Olagundoye, Co-founder and Head of Business Development at SubseaRobotix, noted, “with our partnership with TSC Subsea, we aim to make our country, Nigeria, the hub for innovation in robotically deployed subsea asset integrity solutions in Africa”.
