Damini Ogulu, alias Burna Boy, a Grammy award-winning Nigerian musician, has stated that despite releasing his debut album a decade ago, he is not troubled by the misunderstanding that he is new to the music business.

Metrowatchxtra.com recalls that Davido stirred controversy last month when he included Burna Boy among the “new cats” with Rema, Asake, Fireboy DML, and others.

Many chastised the DMW boss for underestimating Burna Boy.

However, in a recent chat with Apple Music’s Ebro, Burna Boy said it is a good thing some people think he is new in the industry, stressing that it makes him feel younger and want to do more.

He said, “It is a good thing that people think my movement is new. I love that. Because it keeps me young. It means like, I can do so much more, you know. It stretches my life span.

“I’m living longer than I thought I would than I even planned to, you know.”

The ‘Last Last’ crooner said he has always known that he would be great.

Burna Boy added that he does all kinds of music because he is “trying to make the world understand that music is bigger than a genre. I feel blessed that I can do different genres. It would have been a waste if I had restricted myself to a genre.”
