Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has been sworn in for a second term of four years in office.
This is a follow up of his winning of the last general election in the state where the Professor of water engineering got a land slide.
Renewing his mandate at the Ramat Square in Maiduguri Monday, the Governor commended the State and Council areas for a successful conclusion of the elections were residents expressed their will for him to return for a second term.
Responding to the renewed mandate of a second term, in a long speech, the Governor said he was happy that Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have returned to their homes within the period of his first four critical years of battling insurgency as chief security officer of the state.
To boast the health of the residents and their idp counterparts, the Governor revealed that he has recruited over 1000 medical staff to boast the health sector within his first term adding that 1,500 more including specialist doctors will be recruited to back up the sector in his second term.
On Education, the Governor stated that the long expected Federal College of Education (FCE) Gwoza will take off in earnest under his watch in the second term.
Prof Zulum said his administration will soon commence afternoon primary and secondary school system to make way for the drop outs from the insurgency scourge which has plagued the state for the last 14 years.
To boast the health personnel in the state Professor Zulum said he would recruit an addition of  5000 teachers to boast the ailing primary school system completely destroyed by boko haram insurgents.
On water supply, Zulum said that his next assemblage of technocrats will ensure that 200 boreholes will be dug to serve the people with clean drinking water to ease scarcity which still plagues certain areas in the state.
The Governor revealed that 9 earth dams would be built to boast the agriculture sector with more support for farmers in the state.
Also, “a bypass express route from Auno to chabal will be completed while a trunk A road will also be built from Ngala to Rann to ease inter council movements within the border area.
“We will equally connect council areas to the national grid before I leave office while I will support oil exploration for oil before I leave office.
The Governor noted that the title of ” Your excellency” which the Peoples call him means that the production of results is imperative to him. “it also means that I have to work harder to ensure that dividends of democracy is given to the right people. And that the common destiny to every one in the state is given to target stability”
