The newly opened Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals, according to Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele, will assist the country produce more energy for its electricity sector.
Emefiele stated the Dangote Refinery is anticipated to produce 12,000 megawatts of electricity while speaking during the opening in Lagos State on Monday.
He added that once activities get going, Nigerians will have access to around 135,000 permanent jobs.
He asserts that the refinery will also enable Nigeria to annually save between $25 and $30 billion in foreign exchange.
He said that the refinery will bring in $10 billion annually for the national economy.
The Dangote Refinery, according to Emefiele, shows that Nigeria is capable of producing anything it requires.
The Dangote Refinery, which can process 650,000 barrels per day, would mark a crucial turning point for Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas industry.
