The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the opposition candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Abba-Kabir Yusuf, as winner of the March 18, 2023 Kano State Governorship Election.
Yusuf was announced Governor-elect in a live broadcast from the Kano State 2023 Results Collation Centre in Kano, monitored on television by metrowatchxtra.com early Monday morning.
He polled a total of 1,019,602 votes to defeat his closest rival of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who got 890,705 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled 15,957 votes.
