The All Progressives Congress (APC) has lost in Ikwerre, the local government council of Rotimi Amaechi, former minister of transportation, in yesterday’s Governorship and State House of Assembly elections held in Rivers State.
Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State and a chieftain of the APC in Rivers, was Transportation minister under President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 – 2022.
Results from the Ikwerre LGA show that APC lost with 7,503 votes, while PDP won the LGA with 13,716 votes. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) had 1,447; Labour Party (LP) 805; and Accord Party 138 votes.
