The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has declared that his party will win the March 18 race.
The LP candidate said he believed his party was standing a better chance than other contenders in the race.
Major contenders in the race are the incumbent, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Rhodes-Vivour, and Olajide Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
But, the LP candidate alleged that the ruling party in the state intimidated voters during the Saturday’s poll.
He also alleged that the APC orchestrated violence in many of the polling booths, leading to death of some voters.
Notwithstanding, he insisted that he was sure that his party will win the poll.
“I’m pained at the manner in which the ruling party empowered thugs to cause violence at many of the polling units.
“What is it? An election! Why will anyone be killed because of an election? This is barbaric and disheartening.
“But by the grace of God and judging from the results we have gathered so far, we are in a better position to win this election.
“We have record of violence in many of the polling units. And I am happy that results from those booths will be cancelled. This is in line with the Electoral Act. So, I’m hopeful that right thing will be done.”
