After scoring twice to help Al Hilal thrash Al Taawon 4-0 on Saturday, Odion Ighalo went ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for goals in Saudi Arabia.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in minute 32 and doubled the lead in minute 45.
In comparison to Ronaldo of Al Nassr, who has scored eight goals in the top scorer race, he has already scored 11 goals in 15 games.
With 13 goals combined, Anderson Conceicao Talisca and Carlos Alberto from Brazil are in the first place.
Ighalo led Saudi Arabia in goals scored during the previous season with 20.
Ighalo dedicated his latest goals to his mother as a birthday gift.
“That was for you MAMA. Happy birthday to my sweet mother,” he wrote on Instagram.
