Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has taken a final decision on his choice of striker next summer.
The Dutchman was to choose between Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and has decided to bring the England national team captain to the Theatre of Dreams instead.
Tottenham’s exit from the Champions League to AC Milan on Tuesday night further put Kane’s future at the club under scrutiny as Spurs are now facing a 15th consecutive season without silverware.
Manchester United remain the only realistic move for the England captain should he decide to leave the Tottenham Stadium this summer with his current deal expiring in 2024.
Erik ten Hag’s shortlist of three strikers includes Kane, Victor Osimhen and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos.
And the Manchester Evening News reports that ten Hag is ‘intent’ on signing the 29-year-old and that he is his prime striker target.
United are said to be hopeful of landing Kane should Spurs finish outside the top four and believe that would also help lower the asking price to below £100m.
