Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, was declared the victor of last Saturday’s poll in Kaduna State.
The PDP won 14 local government areas, and the Labour Party 7, while the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won only two.
Upon announcing the final results compiled and proclaimed by INEC at the state collation centre, Professor Muhammad Zayyan Umar, the returning officer, stated that Atiku polled 554,360 votes, while Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the APC polled 399,293 votes.
According to him, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, received 294,494 votes, while Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) received 92,962 votes.
He added that 1. 4 million of the 4.3 million registered voters in Kaduna were accredited for the election.
