The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested David Gaius for allegedly raping his stepdaughter.

The father is now being investigated by authorities on three counts of raping his stepdaughter.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, Gaius, who dwells in Unguwan Prison in the Dirma hamlet of Dumne, Song Local Government Area, admits to perpetrating the act.

When describing how he slept with the girl three times, the man blamed it on the devil, who he said duped him into the deed while he was inebriated.

He contradicted his own position, however, when he acknowledged employing an attraction charm, claiming that he placed the charm in the steak that his victim and himself ate.

He said he first had sexual knowledge of the girl in 2020, when she was 14 years old, while living in the same house as his wife and other children after the rest of the family had gone to bed.

He went on to say that when he did it for the third time lately, his wife caught him red-handed, but she lied to her, telling her that a native doctor had instructed him to rape a small girl.

He denied using a white handkerchief to wipe his victim’s private area for ceremonial purposes, as the girl claimed, and also denied raping her for ritual purposes.
