Okowa to Appear before Delta Lawmakers Thursday

The Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, is to appear before the Delta State House of Assembly this Thursday.

 

This was made known Tuesday through a letter Okowa forwarded to the State lawmakers which was read at Tuesday’ s plenary by the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

 

In the letter, Okowa sought the approval of the State Assembly to enable him present the 2023 Appropriation Bill to it on Thursday, October 27, this year.

 

Motion for the approval of the Okowa’s request was moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Ferguson Onwo, just as it was unanimously adopted by the House.

 

Meanwhile, at Tuesday’s Plenary, the House screened and confirmed the appointment of Mr. Sunday Utuodor as Secretary to Isoko North Local Government council.

 

Also at Tuesday’s Plenary, the House received two separate letters nominating Mr. Benjamin Igo, and Dr. Frank Onyemeni Atube as Chairman and Secretary, Bureau for Local Government Pension as well as Mr. Patrick Itor, member, Delta State Sports Commission.

 

The nominees have been asked to submit 35 copies of their curriculum vitae to the office of the Clerk of the State Assembly on Monday, November 1, just as they have also been asked to make themselves available for screening on Tuesday, November 2, 2023.
