2023: After Buhari, it’s Southern Presidency or Nothing – Fayose

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose has openly thrown his weight behind Southern Presidency.

Fayose is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His party had thrown the 2023 presidential ticket open which led to the emergence of a Northerner, Atiku Abubakar as standard bearer.

Apparently aggrieved over the choice of Atiku’s running mate in the person of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Fayose declared total support for power rotation to the South.

“The current President of Nigeria is a 2-term Northern Presidency, thus implying that it MUST be a Southern Presidency in 2023 or NOTHING. Awa ‘South’ lo kan’. Nigerians should await details soon,” Fayose tweeted on Wednesday.

metrowatchxtra reports that top Southern Presidential candidates in the 2023 polls include Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Mr Peter Obi of the opposition Labour Party (LP).
