CJN Tanko Mohammad Resigns Amid Revolt at Supreme Court

Citing health challenge,  Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko
Mohammad has reportedly resigned his appointment.
 
According to Channels Television, he resigned on health grounds amid revolt by his colleague justices of the Supreme Court over sundry management issues.
Sources informed the television station that the former chief judicial officer of the country resigned on Sunday night.
It was gathered that Justice Olukayode Ariwoola will be sworn in as Acting CJN subject to Senate’s confirmation.
Justice Mohammad Tanko was appointed CJN in 2019 following the suspension of the then CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Onnoghen eventually resigned.
