Flashback! I Would Rather Resign Than Fight Oshiomhole or Decamp to PDP, By Alimikhena

•Senator Francis Alimikhena (l) and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole (r).

.The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Francis Alimikhena has disassociated himself from the ongoing rumour that he was working against the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2019 general election.

The Personal Assistant to the Senator on Media and Publicity Mr. Benjamin Atu, condemned the misleading story against the personality of the senator by some elements whom he claimed were sponsored.

He called on the leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, not to regard any of such rumour as being circulated by desperate Senatorial aspirants in Edo North.

Senator Alimikhena said “I would rather resign from active politics rather than joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any other political party to fight his personal brother the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.”

He said further “that it behooves on all of us to pray for him, support him and help him achieve the national task given to him rather than creating tension for him.”

The Senator described the sponsor of such unguided utterances as enemy of democracy who do not wish Comrade Oshiomhole well.

He urged them to withdraw their words and not distract the efforts of the APC National Chairman in his mission to unit the ruling party.

But in a sudden turn of events, Alimekhena has now dumped the APC for the PDP and won a ticket to represent Edo North again next year at the Senate. He is to face Oshiomhole at the main election next year.
